rainy day ride

It rained today. I rode my bike on the way back from Val's, but just as I turned the corner on my street, it started to pour. So, instead of going home to do homework and turning right, I kept on straight ahead of me.

the clouds looked so ominous here at the top of the hill by my house.. and that tree reminded me of something out of a storybook. this was literally five seconds before it started to rain.

the corner at the top of the hill just as the sun started to set.

you can't really tell here, but it's raining..though at this point, not too hard. it poured for about 3 minutes...three amazing, breathtaking moments that I'll never forget. The wind whipping, burning across my face as the cool droplets hit my face...with my bike's speed progressing more and more...until I wasn't even aware I was pedaling anymore. All I could feel or think about at that moment was the rain hitting my face and the swift movement of the wind surrounding me as I flew both up and down various the streets' hills.

My hair is wet...as you can see.

these photos barely capture the beauty that was this moment. alone, standing on top of the hill in the rain..watching the sunset, listening to some inspiring music through my headphones.

I then meandered towards my house by the bluff trail...and just sat for five minutes and watched this.

The world really is so beautiful. We need to open our eyes to everything around us on a daily basis..I think if more of us did that, people would be a lot happier.

our corner

Val and I went to our favorite corner in Border's where we used to always hang out. It's an old-time tradition of ours to grab a bunch of disgusting tabloids and just sit and read there in our favorite corner in the kids' section. It brought back memories and was just..really nice.

Oh, Cheers...how I love you.
